At ADA Home Care, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all client and employee information. Personal health information is collected, stored, and used only for the purpose of delivering safe and effective care, in compliance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and other applicable laws.
- Confidentiality: All staff and service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and must safeguard client information at all times.
- Information Security: Client records are securely stored electronically; any hard copy documents are scanned and securely destroyed. Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- Privacy Breach Response: If a privacy breach occurs, ADA Home Care follows strict procedures to contain the issue, notify affected clients, and take corrective action.
- Technology Use: Staff must handle all electronic communications and client data with strict confidentiality and security practices.
- Third-Party Virtual Care Services: ADA Home Care partners with a trusted external provider to deliver our AI Virtual Care Companion service. This provider complies with Canadian privacy laws (PHIPA, PIPEDA), as well as international standards such as GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA. Information shared is used solely to deliver the companionship service and may include call transcripts, summaries, or mood analyses, which can be shared with designated family members. Sensitive data is never sold, and clients may withdraw consent at any time.
Your Rights
Clients have the right to access their personal information, to be informed about how it is used, and to request corrections or deletions in accordance with privacy laws.
